Ardmore's in-house capability enables us to keep more of our projects under our direct control, ensuring a consistent high level of quality and lowering costs, making us one of the most competitive companies in the construction industry.
Historically the backbone of the company with all elements being in house sourced including a heavy plant asset base of some £35 million.
The company has its own expertise to carry out schemes from the basic substructure to the complex including multi level basements, piling, water retaining structures and all forms of structural temporary support. We haveparticular experience of city centre and waterside locations as is depicted here at the 4 storey basement structure to the new Crown Hotel, Cricklewood.
Most residential and hotel projects are based on reinforced concrete (RC) frames, and Ardmore has therefore developed safe and cost effective ways of constructing these. The techniques employed can be erected with or without an external scaffold, and include table-form and climbing form work. The selected solution is based on the layout of the structure and the demands of the facade installation.
In addition to the reinforced concrete, post-tensioned concrete is also available and used in selected locations to provide thinner floor structures.
We are able to provide a full range of concrete finishes from the basic as struck to power floated including a variety of architectural, worked and board finishes to suit client demands.
Industrial and warehouse projects generally use steel portal frame construction to provide large areas of roof structure. Ardmore have good experience of managing the erection of this type of structure including the roof and wall cladding and the very flat concrete floors that are often required.
Ardmore constructs every type of facade treatment, from traditional brickwork to modernistic insulated rain-screen render in a variety of colours. Illustrated here are two further types - prefabricated curtain walling, factory made and hoisted into position on the project, and traditional cedar cladding together with powder coated aluminium windows.
The company’s own joinery workshop premises and allied specialist staffs are intrinsic to our ability to efficiently execute fit out works. Our own joinery shop greatly reduces lead times and allows the clients’ design requirements to be seamlessly integrated into working drawings and then rapidly into fully finished joinery works of the highest standard.
The photographs show examples of our work at a new office building in Marlow, and the Chiswick Moran Hotel. The quality of the joinery work from our two dedicated workshops is a source of pride for the company.
