The Lock, Stratford

This project involved the demolition of an existing warehouse and the construction of three connected multi-storey buildings comprising 178 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments with ground floor commercial space and live/work units.

The construction is of reinforced concrete frame with a mixture of external facades including brickwork, insulated render and curtain walling to the top level penthouses.

The project was logistically challenging, situated as it was on a long narrow site between a very busy main road and a canal. However, careful liaison with British Waterways and the highway authorities facilitated the smooth running of the project. This project was awarded an NHBC 'Pride in the Job' award for the outstanding quality of its finishing.
